Zdražilová, Elen ; Novotná, Hana (advisor) ; Presslerová, Pavla (referee)
This work deals with the comparison and in-depth analysis of some psychological aspects (especially problematic of attachment) in children currently living in foster care or adoption with experience in two types of early care - institutional care and foster care for a temporary period during the first year of life. The investigated areas were manifestations of attachment and significant manifestations of behavior, experience and relationality in these children. The aim of the work was to compare the effect of both forms of care on the psyche of the child and the deeper connections between the observed phenomena. The research was conducted in the form of qualitative semi-structured interviews with foster parents or adopters of the children under investigation. The results of the research show that investigated children from the temporary foster care, despite the often unsatisfactory quality of care provided, have more favorable manifestations in most of the investigated areas than children from institutional care, and they retain the ability to establish an intimate relationship with the caregiver. However, children show higher levels of anxiety and uncertainty. The research group consisted of six respondents in institutional care aged 64-87 years, for whom the representation of the clients from the DPS of Home Božice p.o. The second research group consisted of six seniors in home care aged 72 to 89 years. The research set was selected using the snowball method. A qualitative research strategy was chosen for the research, and a semi-structured interview was used as a form of data collection. Categories were created during the interviews, that helped with the evaluation of the data and were conducted using open coding. The operationalisation of basic concepts was based on research questions. The research shows that it is necessary to provide seniors and families caring for the elderly in the home environment with timely information about the possibilities they have and which could help them in this challenging situation. For some, the information could ensure a more extended stay in home care or speed up entry to a specific facility, where the senior would be appropriately taken cared for. A greater degree of informants could then be reflected in the possibilities of converging home and institutional care in which I see a possible perspective. The bachelor's thesis will serve as feedback for the Božice p.o Home - Home for the Elderly, where the research was realized with the written consent of the director. Integration of Children from Institutional Care to Independent Life
KREJČOVÁ, Kateřina
Leaving institutional care is an important milestone for young adults. After leaving the institute, they may find themselves completely on the fringes of society. Therefore, this work deals with the life of young adults after the end of institutional education. It maps their steps after several years of independent living. The work deals with the issue of completion of institutional education and subsequent independent life of young adults. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to find out how young adults are prepared for this transition to independent living. The work also finds out how the integration process is doing and what tools are used to facilitate it. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part defines the basic concepts. The first concept is a social worker. It is presented here in all the forms that a young adult may encounter when leaving institutional care. Institutional education is defined here. Its individual types and divisions. Furthermore, the work defines the target group of young adults. In a separate chapter, the work deals with the children's home and the phase of leaving the facility with regard to the goal of the work. Some projects aimed at supporting the integration of children from institutional care into independent living are mapped here. Within the research, a qualitative method of secondary analysis of documents of young adults who left institutional care was chosen. This analysis is intended to show the success of young adults in independent living. The work presents the current form of their lives. The research results show involvement in the project. It also includes the evaluation of knowledge after completing a project that is to help with independent living. Research shows that, despite the equal opportunities that the children's home tried to prepare for children during their years in institutional care, everyone took a separate life differently. It is obvious that it depends not only on the possibilities and chances, but also on the personal attitude of each young adult, his habits and the background from which he comes to institutional education. Despite the individual approach and respect for the needs of individual young adults, facilities and special program staff, not every young adult will be able to start living a successful and satisfied life after leaving the children's home.
